Bodywork for thriving
So often the focus of our attention is to fix what’s broken, to get some relief and feel better. And often, once that’s achieved, we move on to other important things that are calling for our attention. But what if we didn’t just stop there? What if we made it a priority to feel good? To thrive? To go from reactive to proactive? From curative to preventative?
One of the often forgotten things about bodywork is that it feels really, really good. It grounds us in our body, letting our subconscious roam free. It resets the nervous system. It lowers blood pressure. It reduces anxiety and depression. It can lead to profound shifts in perspective.
Now imagine doing that on a regular basis. Thankfully I have an amazing roster of clients that do, whether it’s every other week, every three weeks, or monthly. Often it’s the best part of their week, or even month, and they are religious about keeping their appointments.
I love working with clients on a regular basis, because I can see the changes that happen over time. Physically, yes, but also emotionally. As we work together longer arcs and larger themes may become apparent, or maybe it is just as simple as taking time for yourself to feel good – I’d argue it’s not just OK to do this on a regular basis, but imperative.
Bringing your body, mind, and spirit in a deeply relaxed state on the regular, allowing your nervous system to reset and your subconscious to go to work, translates into going beyond getting better, and into thriving. Adding ongoing bodywork to their self-care practices allows my clients to better cope with what life throws at them, and to better show up for those around them. As one of my clients said: ”Sometimes I feel guilty for coming in every other week, when there are people that can’t. But then I remember that doing so actually enables me to do all the other things I do [for others]”
Don’t feel guilty, you deserve this; your self and the people around you will thank you, and I’d love to help facilitate this. To learn more, please feel free to text me at (347) 693-9340, email me at help@woodstockmassageworks.com, or book an appointment online.
